Attente(s)

• Generate, gather, and organize ideas and information to write for an intended purpose and audience, conducting research as required.
• Write texts in a variety of forms and for various media, applying their knowledge of the elements and techniques associated with each form.
• Revise and edit their texts, applying their knowledge of language conventions.

Contenu(s) d’apprentissage

• Determine the purpose of and audience for the text they are planning to create.
• Conduct research, when it is required (e.g., for essays, articles, research reports), in the following way: determine the focus of their research, and develop a plan for gathering relevant information (e.g., identify the categories and potential sources of the information needed).
• Write a three-paragraph research report related to a text or theme under study: following the prescribed formats for presentation and for citing and document sources; with a clear introduction; with a fully developed body paragraph that effectively summarizes and/or paraphrases information gathered from sources; with a definitive conclusion.
• Make revisions to improve the content, clarity, and interest of their written work.

Déroulement et directives

Savais-tu qu’il existe des politiques gouvernementales concernant la préparation aux urgences ? À la suite de ta lecture de la semaine dernière, tu as appris que les changements climatiques causent des effets sur la fréquence des désastres climatiques au Canada.

Cette semaine, tu apprendras un peu plus sur comment être bien préparé tout en apprenant comment composer un rapport de recherche. Bonne lecture !

Activité(s) d’apprentissage

Étape 1 : Lecture

Commence en faisant la lecture du texte Emergency Measures in Canada. Lorsque tu as terminé ta lecture, compose 4 questions que tu as toujours et inscris-les dans ton journal de bord.

Étape 2 : Écoute

Écoute cette vidéo sur la préparation aux urgences au Canada. Par la suite, réfléchis à tes préparations pour une urgence. Dans ton journal de bord, réponds à la question suivante :

How prepared are you for an emergency? What can you do to be even more prepared? 

Étape 3 : Recherche

Maintenant que tu connais les politiques nationales de préparation, je t’invite à explorer le site concernant la préparation aux urgences en Ontario. Choisis une des urgences proposées et fais une recherche sur la préparation pour celle-ci. Ton but sera d’informer ton public des différentes mesures d’urgence qui existent ainsi que les actions à prendre en cas de cette urgence. Il te faudra au moins 5 sources dans ta bibliographie.

Étape 4 : Écriture

Tu as maintenant toute l’information qu’il te faut pour composer ton rapport de recherche. Maintenant que ton texte est terminé, corrige-le ! Tu peux utiliser un site Web comme LanguageTool pour t’aider. Lorsque tu as terminé ta révision, je t’invite à créer une affiche montrant l’essentiel de ta recherche.
