Contenu(s) d’apprentissage

• Determine the purpose of and audience for the text they are planning to create.
• Conduct research, when it is required (e.g., for essays, articles, research reports), in the following way: determine the focus of their research, and develop a plan for gathering relevant information (e.g., identify the categories and potential sources of the information needed).
• Write a three-paragraph research report related to a text or theme under study: following the prescribed formats for presentation and for citing and document sources; with a clear introduction; with a fully developed body paragraph that effectively summarizes and/or paraphrases information gathered from sources; with a definitive conclusion.
• Make revisions to improve the content, clarity, and interest of their written work.

Déroulement et directives

Savais-tu que plusieurs produits utilisés dans la vie quotidienne sont des inventions canadiennes? Dans ce projet, tu devras faire une recherche sur une invention canadienne et produire un rapport de recherche. À l’aide des ressources mentionnées et du texte Global Warming, tu auras la chance de peaufiner tes habiletés en écriture et en recherche cette semaine!

Activité(s) d’apprentissage

Étape 1 – Planification

1. Fais la lecture du texte Global Warming.
2. Choisis une invention canadienne sur le site.
3. Fais une courte recherche sur l’objet que tu as choisi. Prends en note les sources que tu as utilisées. Afin d’éviter de faire du plagiat, tu devras les insérer à la fin de ton texte dans la section Bibliography. Pour en savoir plus, regarde la vidéo.
4. Construis un organisateur graphique pour t’aider à organiser l’information et tes trouvailles. En voici un bel exemple. 

Étape 2 – Brouillon

1. Consulte le site. Il contient énormément de ressources et d’outils pour te permettre d’écrire un bon texte de recherche.
2. Commence à élaborer le brouillon de ton projet de recherche.

Étape 3 – Révision

1. Maintenant que ton texte est terminé, corrige-le! Tu peux utiliser un site Web comme LanguageTool pour t’aider.
2. Vérifie que l’information que tu as mise dans ton plan s’y trouve.

Étape 4 – Publication

1. Écris la version finale de ton texte dans un outil de traitement de texte.
2. N’oublie pas d’inclure ta bibliographie et au moins deux images de ton invention.
